Carolyn Mittra

Welcome to my about me page! I am thrilled to share my writing journey and provide insights into my creative process.

My journey in education commenced with a Bachelor of Education, specialising in Home Economics and Health Promotion, which I completed at Deakin University in 1994. Over the years, I have garnered a wealth of experience teaching in schools both in Australia and overseas, providing valuable insights into effective educational practices. I believe in the relevance and usefulness of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in teaching and learning. This stems from my experiences at an online university and a short course provider as well as my roles as Head of Department of Digital and Design Technologies.

Currently, I am privileged to teach Food Studies from Year 7 through to Year 12 at an independent school in Melbourne, leveraging my expertise to provide an enriching learning experience for my students. Beyond my teaching responsibilities, I have delivered professional development sessions for the Victorian Education Department and have taken the lead in presenting at conferences on various topics for Home Economics Victoria. In 2023, I had the privilege of contributing to the release of Unit 4, Outcome 2 Food Studies for Edrolo, which exemplified my dedication to enhancing educational resources and fostering effective learning experiences.

I want to take this opportunity to also emphasise that a significant portion of the content you will find here has been crafted in my own words. I take immense pride in ensuring that my writings are genuine, personalised, and reflective of my understanding of the curriculum and expertise.

In mid-2023, I embarked on a new exploration, using AI technology as a supplemental tool to enhance my writing efforts. I have found that working with AI has been valuable in generating ideas and refining my written content. It’s important to note that this collaboration involves my active input and guidance in the AI-generated process. Every output generated by the AI undergoes meticulous review and editing to ensure seamless alignment with my intentions.
